Chery revealed yet another concept ahead of the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show,
the Chery Alpha 7. This is the sedan previously known by its internal
designation M16 or also as the Chery A4.
According to the official statement, the Alpha 7 will be the first
car built on Chery’s new platform, the iAUTO. The car’s dimensions are
as follows: 4650x1820x1480mm (length x width x height), with a 2700mm
wheelbase.
The Alpha 7 is expected to be packed with technology, including
keyless entry, cruise control, push-start button, electronic emergency
brake and more. The new “C-Cloud” technology will allow the car to be
locked/unlocked and started via a smartphone app. The app will also have
some diagnostics capabilities.
Reports indicate the Alpha7 will be powered by a 1.6L DVVT engine
capable of 126hp and 160 Nm peak torque, mated to a CVT gearbox. A
turbocharged engine and a dual clutch transmission are also in the
horizon.
